Vegan Spiced Red Lentil Dal With Pita Recipe

Ingredients
- 100 g Sambar Onion Peeled
- 60G Primi Piatti Red Chilli Flakes
- 1 Kg Kissan Tomato Paste
- 250 ml Dabur Hommade Lemon Juice (Bottle)
- 200 ml Coconut Milk
- 850 g Oleev Smart Vitafit Edibale Vegetable Oil
- 100 g Whole Farm Premium Yellow Small Mustard Seeds
- 100 g Jk Jeera Powder / Cumin Powder
- 1 pack (100 g) Khetika Stone Ground Turmeric Powder, Single Origin, With Natural Oils, High Curcumin,Reusable Pouch
- 100 g X 3 Mtr Coriander Powder Combo
- 1 kg Akar Powder Salt
- 100 g The Baker'S Dozen Zero Maida Pita Bread, Whole Wheat
- 100 g Zoff Garlic Powder
- 500 G Star White Pepper Masala Powder
Instructions
- 1. Combine 2 cups vegetable broth and 1 cup red lentils in a medium saucepan; bring to a boil. Reduce heat, partially cover, and simmer for 10 minutes or until the lentils are tender. Remove from heat, cover, and set aside.
- 2. Heat 1 tablespoon vegetable oil in a large nonstick skillet over medium heat. Add 1 1/2 cups chopped onion, 1 teaspoon garlic powder, 1 teaspoon yellow mustard seeds, and 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes. Cook for 5 minutes, stirring constantly, until the onions are tender and the mustard seeds begin to pop.
- 3. Add 1 teaspoon ground cumin, 1 teaspoon ground turmeric, 1/2 teaspoon white pepper, and 1/2 teaspoon ground coriander to the skillet. Cook for 3 minutes, stirring constantly, to toast the spices.
- 4. Stir in 1 tablespoon tomato paste and cook for 3 minutes, stirring constantly. Add the cooked lentils, 1/2 cup soy milk, and 1/2 teaspoon salt. Cook for 3 minutes, stirring frequently, until the mixture is well combined and heated through.
- 5. Remove the skillet from heat and stir in 2 teaspoons lemon juice. Allow the dal to cool slightly to room temperature before serving.
- 6. Warm 5 pita breads in the oven or on a skillet, and serve alongside the dal for dipping.
