A delightful combination of marinated tofu and stir-fried vegetables served over rice, flavored with a budget-friendly homemade teriyaki sauce.
Ingredients
- - Fresh Tofu
- 250 g Carrot
- 1 pc (approx. 500 g to 800 g) Cabbage
- 100 g Garlic
- 1 kg Rice
- 90 g Dark Soy Sauce
- 500 g Sugar
- 200 ml Mustard Oil
- 1 l Soyabean Oil
Instructions
- 1. Rinse the rice thoroughly under running water and cook it in a pot with double its volume in water until tender.
- 2. Cut the tofu into bite-sized cubes and pat dry with a clean towel to remove excess moisture.
- 3. Heat vegetable oil in a pan, add the tofu cubes, and fry them until they are golden on all sides.
- 4. Peel and julienne the carrot, and finely shred the cabbage for the stir-fry.
- 5. In the same pan, sauté garlic until fragrant, then add carrot and cabbage and cook for 3-4 minutes.
- 6. Mix soy sauce, sugar, and cornstarch in a bowl with a small amount of water to make the teriyaki sauce.
- 7. Pour the sauce into the pan with vegetables and tofu, stirring continuously until the sauce thickens and coats the ingredients evenly.
- 8. Serve the cooked rice in bowls and top it with the tofu and vegetable mixture.
