Ingredients
- 500 ml Oil (For Frying)
- 100 g Popular Essentials Jeera (Cumin Seeds)
- 500 g Onion
- 1 pack (100 g) Everest - Ginger Garlic Paste
- medium Chilli Green Long
- 500 g Desi Tomato (Tamatar)
- 20 g Turmeric Powder
- - Coriander Powder
- 100 g Catch Super Garam Masala
- 250 ml Real Thai Unsweetened Coconut Milk
- 1 pack (1 kg) Aashirvaad Crystal Salt | Iodised
- 1 Bunch Coriander Leaves ( Kottambari Soppu )

- 100 g Diet Tofu Masala Tofu
- 200 g So-Lite Masala Tofu
Instructions
- 1. Rinse the basmati rice well and soak it in water for 20 minutes, then drain and set aside.
- 2. Heat 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil in a pan, add cumin seeds, and let them sizzle for a few seconds.
- 3. Add chopped onions and sauté until golden brown, stirring occasionally to prevent burning.
- 4. Stir in the ginger-garlic paste and finely chopped green chilies, cooking for 1-2 minutes until aromatic.
- 5. Add diced tomatoes, turmeric powder, coriander powder, and garam masala, cooking until the tomatoes are soft and the mixture is well combined.
- 6. Pour in the coconut milk and 200 ml of water, then bring the mixture to a boil over medium heat.
- 7. Add the soaked rice and salt, cover the pan with a lid, and reduce the heat to low. Cook for 15 minutes or until the rice is tender.
- 8. While the rice cooks, heat the remaining 1 tablespoon of oil in another pan and add cubed tofu.
- 9. Toss the tofu with a pinch of turmeric and salt, then sauté until golden and slightly crisp on all sides.
- 10. Once the rice is cooked, fluff it gently with a fork and let it rest for 5 minutes.
- 11. Serve the masala rice in bowls, topping each with the sautéed tofu and freshly chopped coriander leaves.
