Ingredients

  • 20 g Turmeric Powder
  • - Red Chilli Powder
  • 50 g Everest Cumin Powder
  • 1 pack (1 kg) Aashirvaad Crystal Salt | Iodised
  • 200 ml Mustard Oil
  • 1 pack (1 kg) 921 Everyday Long Grain Rice
  • 200 g Itc Master Chef Medium Prawns Peeled & Deveined (Frozen)
  • 1 pack (200 g) Daily Good Tamarind / Imli
  • 500 g Onion
  • 500 g Desi Tomato (Tamatar)
  • medium Chilli Green Long
  • 100 g Garlic - Single Clove
  • 1 Bunch Coriander Leaves ( Kottambari Soppu )

Instructions

  1. 1. Rinse the prawns thoroughly under cold water and pat them dry with a paper towel.
  2. 2. Soak tamarind pulp in warm water for 5 minutes and strain to remove any seeds or fibers.
  3. 3. Dice the onion and tomato finely, and mince the garlic and green chili.
  4. 4. Heat oil in a pan, add mustard seeds, and let them crackle for a few seconds.
  5. 5. Add the minced garlic and green chili to the pan, sauté until fragrant and lightly golden.
  6. 6. Stir in the diced onion and cook for 3-4 minutes until soft and translucent.
  7. 7. Add the diced tomato and cook until it breaks down into a thick paste, about 5 minutes.
  8. 8. Mix in turmeric powder, red chili powder, cumin powder, and salt, cooking for 1 minute to bloom the spices.
  9. 9. Pour the tamarind pulp into the pan and stir well, allowing it to simmer for 2 minutes.
  10. 10. Add the prawns to the pan and cook for 4-5 minutes, stirring occasionally, until they turn pink and are fully cooked.
