- 250 g Tendercuts Basa Boneless Fillet F&S
- 100 g Tamarind Paste
- - Red Chilli Powder
- 100 g Catch Garlic Paste
- 100 g Orika Big Mustard Seeds
- 50 g Pluckk Organic Curry Leaves
- 500 ml Oil (For Frying)
- 1 pack (1 kg) 921 Everyday Long Grain Rice
- 100 g Popular Essentials Jeera (Cumin Seeds)
- 100 g Fresh Turmeric
- 1 pack (1 kg) Aashirvaad Crystal Salt | Iodised
- 1 Bunch Coriander Leaves ( Kottambari Soppu )
Instructions
- 1. Rinse the fish fillets and pat them dry with a clean kitchen towel.
- 2. Mix tamarind paste, turmeric powder, red chili powder, garlic paste, and half the salt in a bowl to create a marinade.
- 3. Coat the fish fillets evenly with the marinade and let them sit for 15 minutes to absorb flavors.
- 4. Heat vegetable oil in a non-stick pan over medium heat and add mustard seeds until they crackle.
- 5. Add curry leaves to the pan and sauté for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
- 6. Place the marinated fish fillets in the pan and cook for 4-5 minutes on each side until golden and cooked through.
- 7. Meanwhile, rinse the rice under cold water until clear and drain well.
- 8. Heat another pan with vegetable oil and add cumin seeds; let them sizzle for a few seconds.
- 9. Add grated fresh turmeric and sauté for 1 minute until aromatic.
- 10. Pour water into the pan, add the remaining salt, and bring it to a boil.
- 11. Add the rinsed rice to the boiling water, lower the heat, and cover the pan tightly.
- 12. Cook the rice for 10-12 minutes or until the water is absorbed and rice is tender.
- 13. Fluff the rice with a fork and garnish with freshly chopped coriander leaves.
- 14. Serve the tamarind fish alongside the fragrant rice for an irresistible Indian dinner.
