Ingredients
- 1 kg Basmati Rice
- 100 g Tamarind Paste
- 250 g Tendercuts Basa Boneless Fillet F&S
- 200 ml Mustard Oil
- 110 g Unpeeled Garlic Cloves
- loose Ginger
- medium Chilli Green Long
- 20 g Turmeric Powder
- - Red Chilli Powder
- - Coriander Powder
- 1 pack (1 kg) Aashirvaad Crystal Salt | Iodised
- 1 Bunch Coriander Leaves ( Kottambari Soppu )
Instructions
- 1. Rinse the fish fillets thoroughly and pat dry with a clean cloth.
- 2. Mix tamarind pulp with turmeric, red chili powder, coriander powder, and a pinch of salt to form a marinade.
- 3. Coat the fish fillets evenly with the prepared marinade and let them rest for 15 minutes.
- 4. Wash the rice thoroughly and set it to cook in a pot with double the amount of water. Season with salt.
- 5. Heat oil in a pan over medium heat, then add finely chopped garlic, ginger, and green chilies for sautéing.
- 6. Once aromatic, place the marinated fish fillets in the pan and cook for 4-5 minutes per side until golden brown.
- 7. Add a little water to the pan and simmer the fish to ensure it absorbs the flavors for the next 5 minutes.
- 8. Fluff the cooked rice with a fork and transfer it onto serving plates.
