Tangy Tamarind Chicken Drumsticks recipe

About this recipe

Juicy chicken drumsticks marinated in a tangy tamarind sauce, slow-cooked with aromatic spices for a burst of flavor.

Ingredients

  • 100 g Garlic
  • loose Ginger
  • 150 g Licious Chicken Drumstick
  • - Red Chilli
  • 20 g Turmeric Powder
  • 50 g Cumin Powder
  • 100 g Salt
  • 500 g Sugar
  • - Coriander Powder
  • 200 ml Sesame Oil
  • 1 l Soyabean Oil

Instructions

  1. 1. Wash and pat dry the chicken drumsticks thoroughly.
  2. 2. Prepare the marinade by mixing tamarind pulp, minced garlic, grated ginger, red chili powder, turmeric, cumin powder, coriander powder, salt, and sugar.
  3. 3. Coat the chicken drumsticks with the marinade, ensuring even coverage, and let it rest for at least 15 minutes.
  4. 4. Heat vegetable oil in a deep pan over medium heat and add the marinated drumsticks.
  5. 5. Sear the drumsticks on all sides until lightly browned, ensuring the spices stick to the chicken.
  6. 6. Add 1/4 cup of water to the pan and cover it with a lid to allow the chicken to cook through gently.
  7. 7. Stir occasionally to prevent sticking, and cook for about 20 minutes until the chicken is tender and the sauce thickens.
  8. 8. Garnish with chopped fresh coriander leaves before serving.
