Steamed Chickpea Flour Dumplings Recipe

A light and flavorful Jain-friendly dish made with spiced chickpea flour and steamed to perfection. Perfect for a wholesome dinner, served with cooling yogurt and fresh cilantro.
Ingredients
- 1 Bunch x 2 Coriander Leaves (Kotthambari)
- 1 pc Cabbage Red
- 200 g Bok Choy
- 1 ltr Klf Coconad 100% Pure Coconut Oil
- 100 g X 3 Mtr Coriander Powder Combo
- 100 g Jk Jeera Powder / Cumin Powder
- 1 pack (500 g) Daily Good Turmeric - Haldi Powder
- 80 g Urban Platter Cayenne Pepper Powder
- 500 g Whole Farm Premium Rice Flour/Rice Atta
- 100 g Tata Sampann Whole Spices Cumin Seed
- 1 kg Simply Staples Mineral Rich Sea Salt
Instructions
- 1. In a mixing bowl, combine 3/4 cup garbanzo bean flour and 1 tablespoon coconut oil until the mixture is crumbly.
- 2. Stir in 1 1/2 teaspoons coriander powder, 3/4 teaspoon cumin, 3/4 teaspoon salt, 1/4 teaspoon turmeric, and a pinch of cayenne pepper.
- 3. Add 1/2 cup finely chopped red cabbage and mix thoroughly to form a stiff dough. If needed, add a small amount of water to bring the dough together.
- 4. Shape the dough into small dumplings or form a long roll that can be sliced after steaming.
- 5. Line a steamer basket with whole cabbage leaves and place the dumplings in a single layer on top.
- 6. Steam the dumplings for 20-25 minutes until they are shiny and firm to the touch.
- 7. Serve the hot dumplings and garnish with 1/4 cup chopped fresh coriander leaves.
