Ingredients
- 500G Tata Masoor Dal M
- - Rice Flour
- 500 g Onion
- 250g Green Chilli
- loose Ginger
- 100 g Jeera
- 100 g Coriander Leaves
- 20 g Turmeric Powder
- 100 g Salt
- 500 g Jaggery
- - Red Chilli
- 1pc Watermelon
Instructions
- 1. Wash and soak the masoor dal for 20 minutes, then drain and grind coarsely.
- 2. Finely chop the onion, green chili, ginger, and coriander leaves.
- 3. Mix the ground dal with rice flour, chopped vegetables, and spices like turmeric, cumin seeds, and salt.
- 4. Heat oil in a deep pan until hot but not smoking, then form small balls from the dal mixture.
- 5. Fry the balls in batches until golden brown and crispy, then drain on paper towels.
- 6. For the tamarind dip, mix tamarind pulp, jaggery, red chili powder, and water in a saucepan.
- 7. Cook the tamarind mixture on low heat until thickened, stirring occasionally.
- 8. Adjust the consistency of the dip by adding more water if needed, then let cool slightly.
- 9. Serve the crispy masoor dal poppers with the warm tamarind dip for a delicious snack.
