Ingredients
- 100 g Garlic
- 200 G Green Choliya/Chickpeas(200 Gm)
- 200 g Table Salt
- 50 g Cumin Powder
- 500 g White Tahini Paste
Instructions
- 1. Gather all the ingredients: 1 cup boiled chickpeas, 1-2 Kashmiri red chilies (adjust to taste), 2 tbsp tahini, 2 tbsp lemon juice, 2 garlic cloves, 3 tbsp olive oil, 1/2 tsp cumin powder, salt to taste, and 2-3 tbsp water (for consistency).
- 2. Soak the Kashmiri red chilies in warm water for 10-15 minutes to soften them. This will make blending easier and enhance the flavor.
- 3. Drain the soaked chilies and remove the stems. Set aside.
- 4. In a blender or food processor, add the boiled chickpeas, soaked Kashmiri red chilies, tahini, lemon juice, garlic cloves, cumin powder, and salt.
- 5. Blend the mixture on low speed for 1-2 minutes, scraping down the sides as needed, until the ingredients are well combined.
- 6. While blending, gradually add the olive oil in a steady stream to emulsify the mixture and create a smooth texture.
- 7. Check the consistency of the hummus. If it is too thick, add 1-2 tbsp of water and blend again until you achieve the desired creamy texture.
- 8. Taste the hummus and adjust the seasoning, adding more salt, lemon juice, or Kashmiri chilies if needed for a balanced flavor.
- 9. Transfer the hummus to a serving bowl. Drizzle a little olive oil on top for garnish.
- 10. Optionally, sprinkle a pinch of cumin powder or paprika on top for added flavor and presentation.
- 11. Serve the Spicy Kashmiri Chili Hummus with warm pita bread, sliced vegetables, or as a spread for sandwiches. Enjoy immediately or store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
