  • 500 ml Oil (For Frying)
  • 100 g Lemon
  • 1 Bunch Coriander Leaves ( Kottambari Soppu )

Instructions

  1. 1. Cut the boneless fish fillets into bite-sized pieces and pat them dry with a paper towel.
  2. 2. In a mixing bowl, combine chickpea flour, rice flour, ginger paste, garlic paste, red chili powder, turmeric, coriander powder, carom seeds, and salt.
  3. 3. Gradually add water to the dry mixture, whisking to form a smooth, lump-free batter with a medium-thick consistency.
  4. 4. Heat vegetable oil in a deep frying pan over medium heat until it reaches a temperature of 180°C (check with a thermometer or by dropping a small batter piece).
  5. 5. Dip each fish piece into the batter, ensuring it is fully coated, and gently lower it into the hot oil.
  6. 6. Fry the fish pieces in batches, turning occasionally, until they are golden brown and crispy on all sides, about 6-8 minutes per batch.
  7. 7. Remove the fritters from the oil using a slotted spoon and place them on a plate lined with paper towels to drain excess oil.
  8. 8. Once all the fish pieces are fried, garnish them with freshly chopped coriander leaves.
  9. 9. Serve the Spicy Fish Amritsari Fritters hot, accompanied by lemon wedges for an extra zing of flavor.
