Spiced Mutton and Lentil Khichdi recipe

Ingredients

  • 1 kg Yellow Moong Dal
  • 1 kg Rice
  • 500 g Onion
  • - Tomato Ketchup
  • 20 g Turmeric Powder
  • - Red Chilli
  • 100 g Jeera
  • 50 Grms Kala Masala Handmade Spices 50 Grms
  • 100 g Salt
  • - Coriander Powder
  • 1pc Watermelon

Instructions

  1. 1. Wash and soak the rice and moong dal in water for 20 minutes.
  2. 2. Heat oil in a pressure cooker and add cumin seeds and whole spices.
  3. 3. Once aromatic, sauté chopped onions until golden brown.
  4. 4. Add ginger-garlic paste and cook until the raw smell disappears.
  5. 5. Stir in chopped tomatoes, turmeric, chili powder, and salt, cooking until softened.
  6. 6. Add the mutton chunks and cook until they are browned and coated with spices.
  7. 7. Drain the soaked rice and dal, then mix them into the cooker.
  8. 8. Pour in water, stir, and check seasoning before sealing the cooker.
  9. 9. Pressure cook on medium heat for 3 whistles or until the mutton is tender.
  10. 10. Allow the pressure to release naturally, then gently stir the khichdi.
  11. 11. Garnish with fresh coriander leaves before serving.
