Spiced Mushroom and Soy Chunk Pilaf recipe

Ingredients

  • 1 kg Basmati Rice
  • 500 g Onion
  • - Tomato Ketchup
  • 100 g Garlic
  • loose Ginger
  • 250g Green Chilli
  • 100 g Jeera
  • 20 g Turmeric Powder
  • 45 g Garam Masala
  • 100 g Salt
  • 1pc Watermelon
  • - Coriander Powder

Instructions

  1. 1. Soak soy chunks in hot water for 10 minutes, then drain and squeeze out excess water.
  2. 2. Wash and rinse the basmati rice, then soak in water for 15 minutes.
  3. 3. Heat vegetable oil in a pan, add cumin seeds, and let them splutter.
  4. 4. Add chopped onions, garlic, ginger, and green chilies; sauté until golden brown.
  5. 5. Stir in chopped tomatoes and cook until softened and the oil separates.
  6. 6. Add turmeric, coriander powder, and garam masala; mix well for 1 minute.
  7. 7. Toss in sliced mushrooms and soy chunks, cooking until they are lightly browned.
  8. 8. Drain the soaked rice and add it to the pan, stirring gently to coat with spices.
  9. 9. Pour in water and season with salt; bring to a boil.
  10. 10. Lower the heat, cover, and let it simmer until rice is cooked and water is absorbed.
  11. 11. Fluff the pilaf with a fork and garnish with chopped coriander leaves before serving.
