A fragrant and hearty pilaf made with soy chunks and mushrooms, spiced with traditional Indian flavors for a satisfying dinner.
Ingredients
- 1 kg Basmati Rice
- 500 g Onion
- - Tomato Ketchup
- 100 g Garlic
- loose Ginger
- 250g Green Chilli
- 100 g Jeera
- 20 g Turmeric Powder
- 45 g Garam Masala
- 100 g Salt
- 1pc Watermelon
- - Coriander Powder
Instructions
- 1. Soak soy chunks in hot water for 10 minutes, then drain and squeeze out excess water.
- 2. Wash and rinse the basmati rice, then soak in water for 15 minutes.
- 3. Heat vegetable oil in a pan, add cumin seeds, and let them splutter.
- 4. Add chopped onions, garlic, ginger, and green chilies; sauté until golden brown.
- 5. Stir in chopped tomatoes and cook until softened and the oil separates.
- 6. Add turmeric, coriander powder, and garam masala; mix well for 1 minute.
- 7. Toss in sliced mushrooms and soy chunks, cooking until they are lightly browned.
- 8. Drain the soaked rice and add it to the pan, stirring gently to coat with spices.
- 9. Pour in water and season with salt; bring to a boil.
- 10. Lower the heat, cover, and let it simmer until rice is cooked and water is absorbed.
- 11. Fluff the pilaf with a fork and garnish with chopped coriander leaves before serving.
