Instructions

  1. 1. Wash and soak moong dal in water for 30 minutes, then drain.
  2. 2. Heat a pan and dry roast cumin seeds until aromatic, then add turmeric, coriander, and chili powders.
  3. 3. Add soaked moong dal to the pan with 400 ml water and salt; cook until tender.
  4. 4. Combine wheat flour, semolina, 20g ghee, and a pinch of salt; knead into firm dough using water.
  5. 5. Divide dough into small balls and bake them in a preheated oven at 180°C for 25 minutes until golden brown.
  6. 6. Crumble 2-3 bati balls and mix them with melted jaggery and the remaining ghee to prepare churma.
  7. 7. Serve the moong dal hot with whole bati and churma on the side for a complete meal.
