Ingredients
- - Foxtail Millet Flour
- 200 g Roasted Chana Dal
- 250 g Spinach
- - Tomato Ketchup
- 500 g Onion
- loose Ginger
- 100 g Garlic
- - Cumin Seeds / Jeera Seeds-250 Gms
- 20 g Turmeric Powder
- - Red Chilli
- 100 g Salt
- 200 ml Ghee
- 1 kg Water Chestnuts
- - Coriander Powder
Instructions
- 1. Rinse the foxtail millet and moong dal thoroughly under running water.
- 2. Heat ghee in a pan, add cumin seeds, and let them sizzle for a few seconds.
- 3. Add finely chopped ginger, garlic, and onion, and sauté until golden brown.
- 4. Stir in chopped tomatoes and cook until they turn soft and mushy.
- 5. Add turmeric powder, red chili powder, coriander powder, and salt, and mix well.
- 6. Add the rinsed millet and moong dal to the pan, stirring to coat them in the spices.
- 7. Pour in water and bring the mixture to a boil over medium heat.
- 8. Lower the heat, cover the pan, and let it simmer for 20 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- 9. Add chopped spinach and cook for an additional 5 minutes until wilted.
- 10. Turn off the heat and let the mixture sit covered for 5 minutes for the flavors to meld.
- 11. Garnish with freshly chopped coriander leaves before serving.
- 12. Divide the mixture into two bowls and serve warm for a nourishing breakfast.
