Ingredients
- - Red Chilli Powder
- - Rice Flour
- - Cumin Seeds / Jeera Seeds-250 Gms
- 300 g Ginger Paste
- 250g Green Chilli
- - Coriander Powder
- 1 Bunch Mint Leaves
- 250 ml Lemon Juice Concentrate
- 100 g Salt
- 1 ltr Pansari Tilsari Edible Vegetable Oil
- 1 kg Water Chestnuts
Instructions
- 1. Rinse the red lentils thoroughly and soak them in water for 20 minutes.
- 2. Drain the lentils and grind them to a coarse paste using a food processor.
- 3. In a mixing bowl, combine the lentil paste, rice flour, cumin seeds, coriander powder, ginger paste, chopped green chilies, and salt.
- 4. Mix the ingredients well to form a thick batter. If needed, add a tablespoon of water to adjust consistency.
- 5. Heat vegetable oil in a deep pan over medium heat until hot but not smoking.
- 6. Shape the batter into small balls or poppers using your hands or a spoon.
- 7. Fry the lentil poppers in batches, turning occasionally, until golden brown and crispy, about 3-4 minutes per batch.
- 8. Remove the poppers with a slotted spoon and drain them on paper towels to remove excess oil.
- 9. To prepare the mint chutney, blend mint leaves, coriander leaves, lemon juice, a pinch of salt, and water until smooth.
- 10. Transfer the chutney to a small serving bowl and adjust seasoning if necessary.
- 11. Serve the hot lentil poppers with the refreshing mint chutney on the side.
