  • - Red Chilli
  • 45 g Garam Masala
  • 100 g Salt
  • 1 ltr Pansari Tilsari Edible Vegetable Oil
  • 1 kg Water Chestnuts

Instructions

  1. 1. Rinse the basmati rice and soak it in water for 15 minutes, then drain it completely.
  2. 2. Wash the moong dal thoroughly and set it aside to drain for a few minutes.
  3. 3. Heat vegetable oil in an air fryer-compatible pan and add cumin seeds, letting them sizzle for a few seconds.
  4. 4. Add finely chopped onions and sauté until golden brown, stirring occasionally to prevent sticking.
  5. 5. Stir in the ginger-garlic paste and sauté for another minute until aromatic.
  6. 6. Add chopped tomatoes, turmeric powder, red chili powder, and salt, and cook until the tomatoes turn soft and mushy.
  7. 7. Mix in the soaked moong dal and stir to coat it evenly with the spices and tomato mixture.
  8. 8. Add water and let the dal cook in the air fryer set at 180°C for 10 minutes, stirring halfway through.
  9. 9. While the dal cooks, lightly steam the spinach leaves until they wilt, then chop them roughly.
  10. 10. Once the dal is cooked, add the chopped spinach and garam masala, and mix well.
  11. 11. Cook the rice separately in the air fryer by adding soaked rice with double the water and cooking at 180°C for 12 minutes.
  12. 12. Fluff the cooked rice with a fork and serve it in bowls topped with the spiced lentil and spinach mixture.
  13. 13. Garnish with a sprinkle of garam masala or fresh coriander if desired before serving.
