Ingredients
- 1 kg Basmati Rice
- 200 g Roasted Chana Dal
- 100 g Coriander Leaves
- 500 g Onion
- - Tomato Ketchup
- 1 pack (200 g) Zoff Ginger-Garlic Paste
- - Cumin Seeds / Jeera Seeds-250 Gms
- 20 g Turmeric Powder
- - Red Chilli
- 45 g Garam Masala
- 100 g Salt
- 1 ltr Pansari Tilsari Edible Vegetable Oil
- 1 kg Water Chestnuts
Instructions
- 1. Rinse the basmati rice and soak it in water for 15 minutes, then drain it completely.
- 2. Wash the moong dal thoroughly and set it aside to drain for a few minutes.
- 3. Heat vegetable oil in an air fryer-compatible pan and add cumin seeds, letting them sizzle for a few seconds.
- 4. Add finely chopped onions and sauté until golden brown, stirring occasionally to prevent sticking.
- 5. Stir in the ginger-garlic paste and sauté for another minute until aromatic.
- 6. Add chopped tomatoes, turmeric powder, red chili powder, and salt, and cook until the tomatoes turn soft and mushy.
- 7. Mix in the soaked moong dal and stir to coat it evenly with the spices and tomato mixture.
- 8. Add water and let the dal cook in the air fryer set at 180°C for 10 minutes, stirring halfway through.
- 9. While the dal cooks, lightly steam the spinach leaves until they wilt, then chop them roughly.
- 10. Once the dal is cooked, add the chopped spinach and garam masala, and mix well.
- 11. Cook the rice separately in the air fryer by adding soaked rice with double the water and cooking at 180°C for 12 minutes.
- 12. Fluff the cooked rice with a fork and serve it in bowls topped with the spiced lentil and spinach mixture.
- 13. Garnish with a sprinkle of garam masala or fresh coriander if desired before serving.
