Ingredients

  • 1 kg Yellow Moong Dal
  • 1 Kg Spinach/Palak (Approx 1 Kg)
  • 1 Combo Onion, Potato & Desi Tomato
  • 250g Green Chilli
  • - Grated Coconut
  • - Coriander Powder
  • - Cumin Seeds / Jeera Seeds-250 Gms
  • 20 g Turmeric Powder
  • - Red Chilli
  • - Rice Flour
  • 100 g Salt
  • 500 ml Oil (For Frying)

Instructions

  1. 1. Wash and soak the yellow moong dal in water for 3-4 hours, then drain and grind it into a coarse paste without adding water.
  2. 2. Rinse and finely chop the spinach leaves, ensuring no excess water remains.
  3. 3. In a large mixing bowl, combine the lentil paste, chopped spinach, onion, green chilies, grated ginger, and chopped coriander.
  4. 4. Add cumin seeds, turmeric powder, red chili powder, rice flour, and salt to the mixture, and mix until well combined.
  5. 5. Heat oil in a shallow frying pan over medium heat, ensuring the oil is hot but not smoking.
  6. 6. Take small portions of the mixture and shape them into round, flat fritters using your hands or a spoon.
  7. 7. Carefully place the fritters in the hot oil and fry them until golden brown on one side, then flip and cook the other side.
  8. 8. Remove the fritters from the pan and place them on paper towels to drain any excess oil.
  9. 9. Repeat the process with the remaining mixture, ensuring the oil is at the right temperature for each batch.
