- 100 g Quinoa
- - Masoor Dal
- 500 g Onion
- - Baby Tomatoes
- 100 g Garlic
- loose Ginger
- 250g Green Chilli
- 100 g Jeera
- 20 g Turmeric Powder
- 45 g Garam Masala
- - Coriander Powder
- 100 g Salt
- 1pc Watermelon
Instructions
- 1. Rinse the quinoa and lentils thoroughly under running water to remove excess starch and impurities.
- 2. Heat oil in a large pan and add cumin seeds, letting them sizzle for 30 seconds.
- 3. Add chopped onions, garlic, ginger, and green chili to the pan, sautéing until the onions turn golden.
- 4. Stir in chopped tomatoes, turmeric powder, coriander powder, and garam masala; cook until the tomatoes soften.
- 5. Add the rinsed lentils and quinoa to the pan, mixing well with the spice mixture.
- 6. Pour in water and add salt, then bring the mixture to a boil over medium heat.
- 7. Reduce the heat to low, cover the pan, and let it simmer for 20 minutes until the quinoa and lentils are tender.
- 8. Stir occasionally to prevent sticking and ensure even cooking throughout.
- 9. Once cooked, garnish with freshly chopped coriander leaves for added flavor and color.
- 10. Serve the pilaf warm as a standalone dish or with a side of fresh salad.
