Ingredients

  • 1 kg Yellow Moong Dal
  • 500 g Whole Farm Premium Kangni/Foxtail Millet
  • - Coriander Powder
  • 1 Bunch Mint Leaves
  • 250g Green Chilli
  • loose Ginger
  • 110 g Unpeeled Garlic Cloves
  • - Cumin Seeds / Jeera Seeds-250 Gms
  • 20 g Turmeric Powder
  • - Red Chilli
  • - Rice Flour
  • 100 g Salt
  • 140 g Modern Kitchens Raita Boondi - 100 % Rice Bran Oil
  • 100g Greek Yogurt
  • 50 g Black Pepper Powder

Instructions

  1. 1. Wash and soak the split yellow moong dal and foxtail millet in water for 30 minutes.
  2. 2. Drain the water and grind the dal and millet into a thick paste along with ginger, garlic, and green chili.
  3. 3. Transfer the mixture to a bowl and add chopped coriander leaves, cumin seeds, turmeric powder, red chili powder, salt, and rice flour.
  4. 4. Mix the ingredients well to form a cohesive dough. Adjust the consistency with a little water if needed.
  5. 5. Heat oil in a pan on medium heat for shallow frying.
  6. 6. Shape the mixture into small, flat patties about 2 inches in diameter.
  7. 7. Place the patties in the hot oil and cook until golden brown on one side, about 3-4 minutes.
  8. 8. Flip the patties carefully and cook the other side until crispy and golden, another 3-4 minutes.
  9. 9. Remove the patties from the pan and place them on a paper towel to absorb excess oil.
  10. 10. For the dip, blend fresh mint leaves, yogurt, a pinch of salt, and black pepper powder until smooth and creamy.
