- 500 g Tomato - Hybrid
- - DELI QUINOA/BASMATI RICE 1KG
- 250 g Tendercuts Basa Boneless Fillet F&S
- 20 g Turmeric Powder
- - Red Chilli Powder
- - Coriander Powder
- 1 pack (1 kg) Aashirvaad Crystal Salt | Iodised
- 500 ml Oil (For Frying)
- 100 g Popular Essentials Jeera (Cumin Seeds)
- - Onion-250 Gms
- 110 g Unpeeled Garlic Cloves
- loose Ginger
- 1 Bunch Coriander Leaves ( Kottambari Soppu )
Instructions
- 1. Wash the fish fillets thoroughly and pat them dry with a clean kitchen towel.
- 2. Mix turmeric powder, red chili powder, coriander powder, and salt to season the fish fillets evenly.
- 3. Heat vegetable oil in a large pan over medium heat and add the cumin seeds, letting them sizzle for 30 seconds.
- 4. Add the chopped onions to the pan and sauté until golden brown, which should take around 6-8 minutes.
- 5. Stir in the minced garlic and grated ginger, cooking for another minute until fragrant.
- 6. Add the chopped tomatoes and cook for 5 minutes until they become soft and their juices are released.
- 7. Place the seasoned fish fillets on top of the tomato mixture, cover, and let them simmer for 3-4 minutes.
- 8. Gently remove the fish fillets from the pan and set them aside on a plate, keeping them warm.
- 9. Add the washed long grain rice to the pan, stirring to coat it with the tomato and spice mixture.
- 10. Pour water into the pan and bring it to a boil, then lower the heat to a simmer and cover the pan.
- 11. Cook the rice for 12-15 minutes or until it is tender and fully cooked, ensuring the water is absorbed.
- 12. Fluff the rice gently with a fork and serve it into bowls, topped with the reserved fish fillets.
- 13. Garnish with fresh chopped coriander leaves for a burst of color and flavor.
