Ingredients
- 1 kg Basmati Rice
- 200 ml Coconut Milk
- 500 g Onion
- - Tomato Ketchup
- 250g Green Chilli
- 100 g Jeera
- 20 g Turmeric Powder
- - Coriander Powder
- 100 g Salt
- 1pc Watermelon
Instructions
- 1. Rinse the basmati rice thoroughly and soak it in water for 20 minutes.
- 2. Cut the tofu into cubes and lightly pan-fry in oil until golden brown.
- 3. Heat oil in a large pan and add cumin seeds, letting them sizzle.
- 4. Add finely sliced onions and sauté until they turn golden brown.
- 5. Stir in ginger-garlic paste, chopped tomatoes, and green chilies, cooking until soft.
- 6. Add coriander powder, turmeric powder, and garam masala, mixing well.
- 7. Pour in the coconut milk and season with salt, stirring to combine.
- 8. Drain the soaked rice and gently mix it into the pan with the spices.
- 9. Add water and bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce heat to low.
- 10. Cover the pan and let the biryani cook for 15-20 minutes until rice is tender.
- 11. Fold in the pan-fried tofu and garnish with fresh mint and coriander leaves.
- 12. Let the biryani rest for 5 minutes before serving to enhance flavors.
