A warming, spiced breakfast porridge made with protein-rich chickpeas and hearty millet, flavored with aromatic Indian spices.
Ingredients
- 500 Grms Bajra Atta Millets Atta 500 Grms
- - Tong Garden Cheddar N Jalapeno Chickpeas
- 200 ml Coconut Milk
- 1pc Watermelon
- 300 g Ginger Paste
- 50 g Cumin Powder
- 20 g Turmeric Powder
- - Red Chilli
- 100 g Salt
- 50 g Black Pepper Powder
- 100 g Curry Leaves
- 100 g Yellow Mustard Seeds
- 200 ml Sesame Oil
- - Coriander Powder
Instructions
- 1. Rinse the millet thoroughly under running water to remove excess starch.
- 2. Heat sesame oil in a pan and add mustard seeds until they start to pop.
- 3. Add curry leaves, ginger paste, and sauté for 1-2 minutes until fragrant.
- 4. Add millet to the pan and stir for 2 minutes to lightly toast it.
- 5. Pour water and coconut milk into the pan and stir well, bringing it to a boil.
- 6. Lower the heat and add boiled chickpeas, turmeric powder, cumin powder, coriander powder, chili powder, and salt.
- 7. Cover the pan and let the porridge cook on low heat for 15-18 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- 8. Once the millet is tender and creamy, remove the pan from heat and add black pepper powder.
- 9. Garnish with freshly chopped coriander leaves for added flavor and freshness.
- 10. Serve the porridge warm in bowls for a comforting breakfast.
