Spiced Bengal Gram and Spinach Stir recipe

Ingredients

  • 200 g Roasted Chana Dal
  • 250 g Spinach
  • - Baby Tomatoes
  • 100 g Garlic
  • loose Ginger
  • 250g Green Chilli
  • 20 g Turmeric Powder
  • 100 g Jeera
  • - Coriander Powder
  • 200 ml Mustard Oil
  • 100 g Salt
  • 1pc Watermelon

Instructions

  1. 1. Rinse the Bengal gram thoroughly and soak in water for 2 hours.
  2. 2. Drain the soaked gram and boil in a pressure cooker with 200 ml water and turmeric powder until soft.
  3. 3. Heat oil in a pan, add cumin seeds, and let them sizzle for 20 seconds.
  4. 4. Add finely chopped onions, garlic, and ginger to the pan, sauté until golden brown.
  5. 5. Stir in chopped tomatoes and green chilies, cooking until the tomatoes soften.
  6. 6. Add coriander powder and salt, mixing well to incorporate the spices.
  7. 7. Toss in the boiled Bengal gram, stirring to coat it evenly with the spice mixture.
  8. 8. Add freshly washed spinach leaves, cover, and cook until the spinach wilts and combines well.
  9. 9. Adjust the consistency by adding water if needed and simmer for 5 minutes.
  10. 10. Taste and adjust seasoning before serving hot.
