Spiced Beef and Black Bean Bake recipe

A hearty and flavorful dinner featuring tender beef sirloin, black beans, and a zesty tomato base, topped with melted Monterey Jack cheese and served over crispy tortilla chips. Perfect for a satisfying and easy-to-make meal.

Ingredients

  • 100 g Garlic - Single Clove
  • 100 g Sambar Onion Peeled
  • 2.5 Kg Austin Whole Peeled Tomato
  • 55 g 4700Bc Hawaiian Barbeque Corn Chips+
  • 500 G Preserved Dried Salted Black Beans
  • 1 kg Twf Bread Flour T55 - Specialised Maida
  • 525 g Veeba Herby Tomato Pizza & Pasta Sauce

Instructions

  1. 1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. 2. Place an oven bag in a 13 x 9-inch baking dish. Add 2 tablespoons of flour to the bag, twist the end, and shake to coat the inside.
  3. 3. Add 2 cans of tomato sauce to the bag. Squeeze the bag gently to mix the sauce.
  4. 4. Add 2 cups of preserved dried salted black beans, 1 diced sambar onion, and 2 minced garlic cloves to the bag. Arrange the ingredients in an even layer.
  5. 5. Close the oven bag with a nylon tie and cut six 1/2-inch slits in the top of the bag to allow steam to escape.
  6. 6. Bake in the preheated oven for 40 minutes, or until the flavors are well combined.
  7. 7. Carefully open the oven bag and let it sit for a few minutes.
  8. 8. Serve the black bean mixture over a bed of corn chips and garnish with fresh tomato slices, if desired.
