Ingredients
- 80 g Soya Chunks
- 1 kg Basmati Rice
- 500 g Onion
- - Baby Tomatoes
- - Green Peas
- 250 g Carrot
- 100 g Jeera
- - Bay Leaf
- 20 g Turmeric Powder
- - Red Chilli
- 45 g Garam Masala
- 100 g Salt
- 200 ml Mustard Oil
- - Coriander Powder
Instructions
- 1. Wash and soak basmati rice for 20 minutes, then drain the water.
- 2. Soak soya chunks in hot water for 10 minutes, squeeze out excess water, and set aside.
- 3. Heat oil in a large pan, add cumin seeds and bay leaf, and let them sizzle.
- 4. Add sliced onions and sauté until golden brown, stirring occasionally.
- 5. Add ginger-garlic paste and cook for 2 minutes until the raw aroma disappears.
- 6. Stir in chopped tomatoes, turmeric powder, red chili powder, and salt. Cook until tomatoes are soft.
- 7. Add chopped carrots, green peas, and the prepared soya chunks, mixing everything well.
- 8. Sprinkle garam masala and cook for 3 minutes to blend the flavors.
- 9. Add the soaked rice and 300 ml of water, stirring gently to combine.
- 10. Cover the pan with a lid and cook on low heat for 15 minutes until the rice is fluffy and cooked.
- 11. Remove from heat and let it rest for 5 minutes with the lid still on.
- 12. Garnish with fresh coriander leaves and roasted peanuts before serving.
