- - Red Chilli Powder
- 1 pack (1 kg) Aashirvaad Crystal Salt | Iodised
- 500 ml Oil (For Frying)
Instructions
- 1. Rinse the red lentils and quinoa thoroughly under running water to remove any surface starch or debris.
- 2. In a medium saucepan, combine the rinsed lentils and quinoa with 250 ml of water, and bring to a boil over medium heat.
- 3. Reduce the heat to low, cover the pan, and simmer for 15 minutes until both the lentils and quinoa are cooked and the water is absorbed.
- 4. Transfer the cooked lentils and quinoa to a large mixing bowl and allow them to cool slightly for 5 minutes.
- 5. Add the chickpea flour, chopped onion, green chili, grated ginger, and coriander leaves to the bowl.
- 6. Season the mixture with cumin seeds, turmeric powder, red chili powder, and salt, and mix well to form a thick, cohesive batter.
- 7. Heat a non-stick skillet over medium heat and add 1 tbsp of oil, spreading it evenly across the surface.
- 8. Using your hands, shape the batter into small, round patties about 2 inches in diameter.
- 9. Place the patties onto the skillet and cook for 3-4 minutes on one side until golden brown and crisp.
- 10. Flip the patties carefully using a spatula and cook the other side for another 3-4 minutes.
- 11. Repeat the process with the remaining batter, adding more oil as needed, until all the patties are cooked.
- 12. Remove the cooked patties from the skillet and place them on a plate lined with paper towels to absorb excess oil.
- 13. Serve the savory lentil and quinoa bites warm with your favorite chutney or yogurt dip for added flavor.
