Ingredients

  • 100 g Sambar Onion Peeled
  • 100 g Celery Stalk
  • 500 ml Bertolli Extra Virgin Olive Oil
  • 200 g Organigram Chia Seeds
  • 16 g Orika Oregano
  • 1 kg Tata Salt (Vacuum Evaporated Iodised)
  • 1 pack (100 g) Tata Sampann Pure Black Pepper Powder
  • 100 g The Baker'S Dozen Zero Maida Pita Bread, Whole Wheat

Instructions

  1. 1. Preheat your oven to 325°F (165°C) and grease a baking dish.
  2. 2. Finely chop 5 stalks of celery and 1 medium onion. In a skillet over medium heat, sauté the celery and onion in 2 tablespoons of olive oil until softened, about 5 minutes.
  3. 3. Add 1 teaspoon of salt, 1 teaspoon of black pepper, and 1 teaspoon of dried oregano to the skillet with the sautéed vegetables. Stir well and cook for an additional 2 minutes to combine the flavors.
  4. 4. In a large mixing bowl, tear 4-5 pita breads into small pieces. Add the vegetable mixture to the bowl.
  5. 5. In a separate bowl, mix 3 tablespoons of chia seeds with 9 tablespoons of water and let it sit for 5 minutes to thicken, then pour it over the bread mixture. Mix everything thoroughly until well combined.
  6. 6. Transfer the mixture to the greased baking dish. Cover with foil and bake at 325°F (165°C) for 30 minutes. Then reduce the temperature to 300°F (150°C) and bake for an additional 2 hours, removing the foil for the last 30 minutes to allow the top to brown.
  7. 7. Remove from the oven and let it cool slightly before serving. Enjoy your savory halal stuffed bread bake!
