Ingredients
- 100 g Sambar Onion Peeled
- 100 g Celery Stalk
- 500 ml Bertolli Extra Virgin Olive Oil
- 200 g Organigram Chia Seeds
- 16 g Orika Oregano
- 1 kg Tata Salt (Vacuum Evaporated Iodised)
- 1 pack (100 g) Tata Sampann Pure Black Pepper Powder
- 100 g The Baker'S Dozen Zero Maida Pita Bread, Whole Wheat
Instructions
- 1. Preheat your oven to 325°F (165°C) and grease a baking dish.
- 2. Finely chop 5 stalks of celery and 1 medium onion. In a skillet over medium heat, sauté the celery and onion in 2 tablespoons of olive oil until softened, about 5 minutes.
- 3. Add 1 teaspoon of salt, 1 teaspoon of black pepper, and 1 teaspoon of dried oregano to the skillet with the sautéed vegetables. Stir well and cook for an additional 2 minutes to combine the flavors.
- 4. In a large mixing bowl, tear 4-5 pita breads into small pieces. Add the vegetable mixture to the bowl.
- 5. In a separate bowl, mix 3 tablespoons of chia seeds with 9 tablespoons of water and let it sit for 5 minutes to thicken, then pour it over the bread mixture. Mix everything thoroughly until well combined.
- 6. Transfer the mixture to the greased baking dish. Cover with foil and bake at 325°F (165°C) for 30 minutes. Then reduce the temperature to 300°F (150°C) and bake for an additional 2 hours, removing the foil for the last 30 minutes to allow the top to brown.
- 7. Remove from the oven and let it cool slightly before serving. Enjoy your savory halal stuffed bread bake!
