Ingredients
- 1 pc (100 g) The Select Aisle Double Acting Baking Powder
- 200 g Organigram Chia Seeds
- 1 pack (500 g) Natureland Organics Chana Besan
- 100 g Jk Jeera Powder / Cumin Powder
- 100 g Catch Sprinklers - Iodized Table Salt
- 100 g X 3 Mtr Turmeric Powder | Arisina Pudi Combo
- 200 g Tmi Colman Black Salt Powder (Kala Namak)
- 100 g Catch Sprinklers - Black Pepper Powder
Instructions
- 1. In a large mixing bowl, combine 1 1/2 cups chickpea flour, 1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder, 1 teaspoon ground cumin, 1 teaspoon salt, 1/2 teaspoon turmeric, 1/4 teaspoon black salt, and 1/4 teaspoon black pepper. Mix thoroughly to create the dry omelet mix.
- 2. Store the mix in an airtight container in the refrigerator until ready to use.
- 3. When ready to cook, stir the mix to ensure even distribution of ingredients. Measure out one heaping 1/3 cup of the mix and combine it with 1/3 cup water in a small bowl. Stir well and let it sit for 5 minutes to thicken.
- 4. Proceed directly to cooking the batter.
- 5. Heat a non-stick pan over medium heat until a drop of water sizzles. Pour in half of the batter and spread it into a thin circle about 4 to 5 inches in diameter. Cover the pan and cook for 3-4 minutes, or until the top is no longer wet and the edges begin to brown.
- 6. Carefully flip the omelet and cook the other side for another 1-2 minutes with the lid on, ensuring the center is fully cooked.
- 7. Transfer the cooked omelet to a plate and keep warm. Repeat with the remaining batter to make a second omelet.
- 8. Serve the two omelets as a single dinner portion, optionally garnished with chia seeds.
