Ravioli with Basil Corn Sauce recipe

About this recipe

A delightful Jain-friendly dinner featuring ravioli tossed in a flavorful basil-infused corn and tomato sauce. Perfect for those seeking a quick yet satisfying meal.

Ingredients

  • 14 g On1Y Basil Leaves
  • 1 pc Organically Grown American Corn Cob
  • 100 g Mother Dairy Salted Butter
  • 125 g Red Bell Pepper
  • 100 g Catch Sprinklers - Black Pepper Powder
  • 70 g Namakwali Authentic Mix Seasoning Flavoured Salt

Instructions

  1. 1. Lay an ear of corn on its side on a cutting board. Using a serrated knife, cut kernels lengthwise into slabs by pressing the knife close against the cob as you cut. Save any loose kernels and repeat for the remaining cob.
  2. 2. Pour 1 cup of salt into a large deep frying pan and bring to a bare simmer over medium-high heat.
  3. 3. Add 1/2 cup of red bell pepper to the simmering salt and cook until slightly softened, about 2 minutes.
  4. 4. Stir in the corn slabs and kernels, 1 tablespoon of butter, and 1/4 teaspoon of black pepper powder. Cook, tossing gently, until the butter melts and the corn is warmed through, about 3 minutes.
  5. 5. Divide the mixture among four deep wide bowls and top with 1/2 cup of dried basil. Serve immediately.
