- 200 ml Coconut Milk
- - Cumin Seeds 100g
- 20 g Turmeric Powder
- 100 g Salt
- 1 kg Water Chestnuts
- 200 ml Mustard Oil
Instructions
- 1. Wash and soak the pearl millet and green gram dal separately for 30 minutes.
- 2. Heat oil in a pressure cooker and add cumin seeds, letting them sizzle for a few seconds.
- 3. Dice the tomato and add it to the cooker, stirring for 2-3 minutes until slightly softened.
- 4. Add the soaked millet and dal to the cooker along with turmeric powder and salt.
- 5. Pour in water and stir to combine all ingredients evenly.
- 6. Close the pressure cooker and cook on medium heat for 4-5 whistles.
- 7. Allow the pressure to release naturally before opening the cooker lid.
- 8. Stir in the coconut milk and simmer for 2-3 minutes to enhance the flavor.
- 9. Adjust the consistency with a little water if needed, ensuring a semi-thick texture.
- 10. Serve hot, garnished with a drizzle of coconut milk or freshly chopped coriander if desired.
