  • 200 ml Coconut Milk
  • - Cumin Seeds 100g
  • 20 g Turmeric Powder
  • 100 g Salt
  • 1 kg Water Chestnuts
  • 200 ml Mustard Oil

Instructions

  1. 1. Wash and soak the pearl millet and green gram dal separately for 30 minutes.
  2. 2. Heat oil in a pressure cooker and add cumin seeds, letting them sizzle for a few seconds.
  3. 3. Dice the tomato and add it to the cooker, stirring for 2-3 minutes until slightly softened.
  4. 4. Add the soaked millet and dal to the cooker along with turmeric powder and salt.
  5. 5. Pour in water and stir to combine all ingredients evenly.
  6. 6. Close the pressure cooker and cook on medium heat for 4-5 whistles.
  7. 7. Allow the pressure to release naturally before opening the cooker lid.
  8. 8. Stir in the coconut milk and simmer for 2-3 minutes to enhance the flavor.
  9. 9. Adjust the consistency with a little water if needed, ensuring a semi-thick texture.
  10. 10. Serve hot, garnished with a drizzle of coconut milk or freshly chopped coriander if desired.
