Delicious, golden pancakes made from moong dal, spiced lightly for a hearty breakfast. High in protein and perfect for Jain diets.
Ingredients
- 250g Green Chilli
- 500 g Moong Dal
- - Coriander Powder
- - Cumin Seeds / Jeera Seeds-250 Gms
- 20 g Turmeric Powder
- 100 g Salt
- 1 ltr Pansari Tilsari Edible Vegetable Oil
- 1 kg Water Chestnuts
Instructions
- 1. Wash and soak the moong dal in water for 4 hours or overnight for better texture.
- 2. Drain the dal and blend it with green chili, turmeric, salt, and water until smooth.
- 3. Add chopped coriander leaves and cumin seeds to the batter, mixing well to combine.
- 4. Heat a non-stick pan and lightly grease it with oil to prevent sticking.
- 5. Pour a ladle of batter onto the pan and spread it into a thin pancake using the back of the spoon.
- 6. Cook the pancake on medium heat until golden brown on one side, about 2-3 minutes.
- 7. Flip the pancake carefully and cook the other side until evenly browned.
- 8. Repeat the process with the remaining batter, adding oil as needed for the pan.
- 9. Serve the pancakes hot with chutney or a squeeze of lemon juice for a fresh tang.
