Ingredients

  • 500 g Onion
  • 250g Green Chilli
  • - Coriander Powder
  • loose Ginger
  • 100 g Jeera
  • 20 g Turmeric Powder
  • 100 g Salt
  • 200 ml Mustard Oil
  • 125 ml Flavoured Yogurt Drink - Mango
  • 250 ml Lemon Juice Concentrate
  • 100 g Garlic
  • 200 g Black Salt

Instructions

  1. 1. Rinse and soak the moong dal in water for 4 hours or overnight, then drain it completely.
  2. 2. Blend the soaked dal with ginger, green chili, and water to form a smooth batter.
  3. 3. Finely chop the onion and coriander leaves, then mix them into the batter with salt, cumin seeds, and turmeric powder.
  4. 4. Heat a non-stick pan and lightly grease it with oil before pouring a ladle of batter to form a thin chilla.
  5. 5. Cook the chilla on medium heat for 2-3 minutes until golden, then flip and cook the other side.
  6. 6. Repeat with the remaining batter to make additional chillas, keeping them warm as you proceed.
  7. 7. For the chutney, blend mint leaves, yogurt, lemon juice, garlic, and black salt until smooth.
  8. 8. Adjust the consistency of the chutney with water if needed, ensuring it remains thick and creamy.
  9. 9. Serve the hot moong dal chillas with a generous side of mint chutney for dipping.
