Ingredients
- 500 g 24 Mantra Organic Malka Masoor
- 1 kg Whole Farm Premium Brown Rice
- 5Ltr Vittorio Pomace Olive Oil
- 100 g Sambar Onion Peeled
- 200 g Catch Sprinklers Iodisedtable Salt
Instructions
- 1. Rinse 1 1/4 cups of red lentils and 3/4 cup of brown rice under cold water until the water runs clear. Set aside.
- 2. Heat 3 tablespoons of olive oil in a large pot over medium heat. Add 2 finely chopped onions and sauté until golden brown, about 8-10 minutes.
- 3. Add the rinsed lentils and rice to the pot, stirring to coat them in the oil and onions.
- 4. Pour in 4 cups of water and bring the mixture to a boil. Reduce the heat to low, cover, and let it simmer for 30-35 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the lentils and rice are tender.
- 5. Season the stew with 1/2 teaspoon of salt, adjusting to taste. Stir well and let it rest for 5 minutes before serving.
