- 1 kg Rice
- - MASOOR DAL SPECIAL 500GM
- 200 g Spinach (Palak)
- 500 g Desi Tomato (Tamatar)
- - Onion-250 Gms
- 100 g Garlic - Single Clove
- loose Ginger
- 100 g Popular Essentials Jeera (Cumin Seeds)
- 20 g Turmeric Powder
- - Red Chilli Powder
- 100 g Catch Super Garam Masala
- 500 ml Oil (For Frying)
- 1 pack (1 kg) Aashirvaad Crystal Salt | Iodised
- 1 Bunch Coriander Leaves ( Kottambari Soppu )
Instructions
- 1. Rinse the rice thoroughly and soak it in water for 15 minutes before cooking.
- 2. Wash the lentils thoroughly and set them aside for later use.
- 3. Heat oil in a pan and add cumin seeds, letting them sizzle for a few seconds.
- 4. Finely chop the onion, garlic, ginger, and tomato, then sauté them in the pan until soft and aromatic.
- 5. Add turmeric, red chili powder, coriander powder, and salt to the pan, stirring well to combine.
- 6. Stir in the lentils and pour in 300 ml of water, then cook for 15 minutes on medium heat until the lentils soften.
- 7. While the lentils cook, boil the rice in 200 ml of water until tender, then drain any excess water.
- 8. Add the spinach to the lentils and cook for another 5 minutes until wilted, mixing well.
- 9. Sprinkle garam masala over the lentil mixture and adjust the seasoning if needed.
- 10. Serve the cooked rice in bowls, topping it with the lentil-spinach mixture.
- 11. Garnish with freshly chopped coriander leaves and serve warm.
