Ingredients
- 20 g Turmeric Powder
- - Red Chilli
- 45 g Garam Masala
- - Garlic Paste
- 300 g Ginger Paste
- - Coriander Powder
- 250 ml Lemon Juice Concentrate
- 1 kg Basmati Rice
- 100 g Yellow Mustard Seeds
- 100 g Curry Leaves
- 250g Green Chilli
- 200 ml Mustard Oil
- 100 g Salt
Instructions
- 1. Mix turmeric, chili powder, coriander powder, garam masala, garlic paste, ginger paste, and lemon juice in a bowl to make the marinade.
- 2. Rub the marinade generously over the fish steaks and let them rest for 15 minutes.
- 3. Heat 2 tbsp oil in a pan and cook the marinated fish steaks for about 4-5 minutes on each side until golden and cooked through.
- 4. In a separate pan, heat 1 tbsp oil and add mustard seeds, curry leaves, and sliced green chilies.
- 5. Once the mustard seeds splutter, add the cooked basmati rice and stir well to coat with the tempering.
- 6. Squeeze fresh lemon juice into the rice and mix thoroughly for a zesty flavor.
- 7. Adjust salt in both the fish steaks and lemon rice as per taste.
- 8. Garnish the dish with freshly chopped coriander leaves for a burst of freshness.
- 9. Serve the masala fish steaks alongside the lemon rice while both are warm.
