Ingredients

  • 1 pc (approx. 500 g to 800 g) Cabbage
  • 50 g White Sesame Seeds
  • 1 l Refined Soyabean Oil
  • 500 g Sugar
  • 90 g Dark Soy Sauce

Instructions

  1. 1. Remove the outer leaves of a medium-sized cabbage and wash thoroughly. Cut the cabbage into bite-sized pieces, roughly 4-5 cups worth.
  2. 2. In a small bowl, mix 2 tbsp soy sauce, 1 tbsp rice vinegar, 1 tsp sesame oil, 1 tsp sugar, and 1/2 tsp grated ginger. Stir until the sugar dissolves completely.
  3. 3. Heat a large pan or wok over medium-high heat. Add 1 tbsp vegetable oil and swirl to coat the surface.
  4. 4. Add the cabbage pieces to the pan and stir-fry for 3-4 minutes until slightly softened but still crisp.
  5. 5. Pour the prepared sauce over the cabbage and toss to coat evenly. Cook for another 2 minutes, allowing the flavors to absorb.
  6. 6. Sprinkle 1 tbsp toasted sesame seeds and 1 finely chopped green onion over the cabbage. Toss gently.
  7. 7. Transfer the cabbage to a serving plate and serve warm or at room temperature as a side dish.
