This crispy and golden fry bread is a perfect Jain-friendly dinner option. Made without root vegetables, it pairs wonderfully with chutneys or as a standalone snack.
Ingredients
- 500 ml Mother Dairy Cow Milk
- 1 Combo Fortune Rice Bran 1L & Mustard Oil 1L Pet
- 500 g + 500 g Sambhojanam Singhara Flour And Kuttu Flour Combo
- 100 g Catch Sprinklers - Iodized Table Salt
- 100 g Tops Baking Powder
- 100 g Jk Jeera Powder / Cumin Powder
Instructions
- 1. In a large mixing bowl, combine 2 cups of flour, 1 teaspoon of salt, 3 teaspoons of baking powder, and a pinch of cumin powder.
- 2. Gradually add 1 cup of milk and stir until the mixture forms a stiff dough.
- 3. Transfer the dough onto a well-floured surface and pat it down to about 1/2-inch thickness using your hands.
- 4. Cut the dough into strips or squares, making a small slit in the middle of each piece.
- 5. Heat enough oil in a deep pan for frying. Once the oil is hot, carefully place the dough pieces into the oil and fry until golden brown on both sides, flipping as needed.
- 6. Remove the fry bread from the oil and place it on a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil. Serve warm with your favorite Jain-friendly accompaniments.
