- 500G Tata Masoor Dal M
- 1Kg Potato
- 250 g Spinach
- 200 ml Coconut Milk
- 500 g Onion
- - Tomato Ketchup
- 100 g Garlic
- loose Ginger
- 100 g Jeera
- 20 g Turmeric Powder
- - Red Chilli
- 100 g Salt
- - Coriander Powder
- 1pc Watermelon
Instructions
- 1. Rinse the masoor dal thoroughly under running water and set aside.
- 2. Peel and dice the carrots, potatoes, and chop the spinach, onion, tomato, garlic, and ginger finely.
- 3. Heat vegetable oil in a large pot and add cumin seeds, letting them sizzle for 30 seconds.
- 4. Add chopped onion, garlic, and ginger, sautéing until golden and fragrant.
- 5. Stir in turmeric, red chili powder, and coriander powder, cooking for another minute.
- 6. Add diced tomatoes and cook until they soften and blend into the spices.
- 7. Add the rinsed masoor dal, carrots, potatoes, and water, and bring to a boil.
- 8. Lower the heat, cover, and simmer for 15 minutes or until the dal and vegetables are tender.
- 9. Stir in coconut milk and chopped spinach, cooking for an additional 5 minutes.
- 10. Season with salt and adjust spices if needed, stirring well.
- 11. Garnish with fresh coriander leaves and serve warm.
