Ingredients

  • 250 ml Coconut Milk
  • 500 g Sugar
  • 100 g Cornflour
  • 500 ml Water

Instructions

  1. 1. In a medium saucepan, pour one can (250 ml) of Cocomama coconut milk.
  2. 2. Add 1/2 cup of Madhur refined sugar to the saucepan and stir well.
  3. 3. In a small bowl, mix 1/4 cup of Weikfield corn starch powder with 1/2 cup of water to create a smooth slurry.
  4. 4. Gradually add the cornstarch slurry to the coconut milk mixture, stirring continuously to avoid lumps.
  5. 5. Place the saucepan over medium heat and cook, stirring constantly, until the mixture thickens and starts to bubble.
  6. 6. Continue to cook for an additional 2-3 minutes while stirring, until the mixture becomes thick and glossy.
  7. 7. Remove the saucepan from the heat and pour the mixture into a square baking dish.
  8. 8. Allow the haupia to cool to room temperature, then refrigerate for at least 2 hours until set.
