Instructions
- 1. Heat 1/4 cup of oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add 1 lb of halal steak strips and brown them on all sides for about 5 minutes.
- 2. Add 1 minced clove of garlic to the skillet and cook for another 2 minutes, stirring frequently.
- 3. Stir in 1 tbsp of soy sauce, 1 tsp of salt, and 1/4 cup of water. Reduce the heat to low, cover, and let it simmer for 45 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- 4. Add 1 cup of sliced green pepper, 1/2 cup of chopped celery, and 1 cup of diced onion to the skillet. Cook for an additional 10-15 minutes until the vegetables are tender but still crisp.
- 5. In a small bowl, mix 1 tbsp of cornstarch with 1 cup of tomato sauce until smooth. Gradually stir this mixture into the skillet.
- 6. Cook the mixture over medium heat, stirring constantly, until the sauce thickens, about 3-5 minutes.
- 7. Add the tomato sauce to the skillet and cook for another 5 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld together.
- 8. Serve the pepper steak and vegetable mixture over hot, fluffy rice. Enjoy your meal!
