Ingredients
- - Mustard Seeds
- 250g Green Chilli
- 20 g Turmeric Powder
- 10G Salt
- 200 ml Mustard Oil
- 500 ml Water
- 250g Coriander
Instructions
- Step 1: Wash the fish pieces thoroughly and pat them dry. Rub them with 1 teaspoon turmeric powder and 1/2 teaspoon salt, and let them marinate for 10 minutes.
- Step 2: Grind the mustard seeds, garlic, and green chilies into a smooth paste using a blender, adding a little water if necessary. Set this aside.
- Step 3: Heat 3 tablespoons of mustard oil in a heavy-bottomed pan on medium heat for 2 minutes until it starts to shimmer. Add the marinated fish pieces and fry them for 3-4 minutes on each side until golden brown. Remove and set aside.
- Step 4: In the same pan, add the mustard paste and sauté for 2 minutes over low heat. Stir constantly to avoid burning, then add finely chopped tomatoes and cook for another 5 minutes until the tomatoes soften.
- Step 5: Add 300 ml of water to the pan and bring it to a boil. Once boiling, reduce the heat to medium and gently place the fried fish pieces into the curry. Cover and simmer for 10 minutes.
- Step 6: Taste and adjust seasoning with salt. Garnish with freshly chopped coriander leaves before serving hot with steamed rice.
