Ingredients

  • 100 g Sambar Onion Peeled
  • 500 g Carrot
  • 250 g Organically Grown Green Capsicum
  • 125 g Mooz Butter Garlic & Herbes
  • 200 g Delichic Chicken Broth
  • 500 g 24 Mantra Organic Malka Masoor
  • 1 pack (1 kg) 921 Everyday Long Grain Rice
  • 80 g Urban Platter Cayenne Pepper Powder
  • 250 g Vistevia Sugar Free Tomato Sauce

Instructions

  1. 1. In a large saucepan, melt 2 tablespoons of butter over medium heat. Add 2 diced onions, 4 chopped carrots, and 1 diced green pepper. Saute for 5-7 minutes until the vegetables are softened.
  2. 2. Pour in 10 oz of chicken broth and 2 cups of water. Bring the mixture to a boil.
  3. 3. Stir in 1 cup of lentils and 1/4 teaspoon of cayenne pepper. Reduce the heat to low, cover, and let it simmer for 25 minutes.
  4. 4. Add 1/2 cup of rice to the saucepan and stir well. Cover again and simmer for an additional 20 minutes, or until the rice is tender and the liquid is mostly absorbed.
  5. 5. Stir in 28 oz of tomato sauce and cook for another 5-7 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld and the liquid to be fully absorbed.
  6. 6. Remove from heat and let the pilaf rest for a few minutes before serving. Serve warm as a complete and satisfying dinner.
