Instructions
- 1. Partially freeze the halal beef steak, then slice it across the grain into 3 x 1/8-inch strips.
- 2. Heat 1/4 cup vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the steak strips and brown them evenly for about 5 minutes.
- 3. Add 3 chopped green peppers, 1 cup sliced celery, 2 minced garlic cloves, and 1/2 cup diced onion to the skillet. Stir well and cook for 3 minutes.
- 4. Pour in 1 cup vegetable stock, 1 teaspoon salt, and 1/4 teaspoon pepper. Cover the skillet, reduce the heat to low, and let it simmer for 15 minutes.
- 5. In a small bowl, combine 1/4 cup soy sauce, 1/4 cup water, and 2 tablespoons cornstarch. Stir until smooth.
- 6. Gradually add the soy sauce mixture to the skillet, stirring constantly. Cook for 2-3 minutes until the sauce thickens and coats the meat and vegetables.
