Frequently asked questions
- How can I tell if the potatoes are partially cooked in Step 1?
- You can check the doneness of the potatoes by piercing them with a fork or knife; they should feel slightly tender but still firm in the center. This ensures they won’t become mushy when simmered further with the vegetables and noodles.
- Can I substitute the Spt Frozen Mixed Vegetables with fresh ones?
- Yes, you can use fresh vegetables like carrots, beans, and peas as substitutes for the frozen mix. Ensure they are diced uniformly to cook evenly and adjust the simmering time slightly, as fresh vegetables may take longer to become tender.
- How can I make this soup more flavorful without adding additional salt?
- You can enhance the flavor by adding fresh herbs like cilantro or parsley as garnish, or a squeeze of lemon juice for brightness. Additionally, simmering the soup slightly longer allows the flavors of the chicken and vegetables to deepen naturally.
- Can this soup be frozen for later use, and how should I reheat it?
- Yes, this soup can be frozen for up to 2 months. To reheat, thaw it overnight in the fridge, then warm it on the stovetop over medium heat. Add a splash of water or broth if the soup thickens during freezing to restore its consistency.
