Ingredients
- 500 g Chana Dal
- 500 g Toor Dal
- - Rice Flour
- 250 g Spinach
- - Tomato Ketchup
- 200 ml Coconut Milk
- 20 g Turmeric Powder
- - Cumin Seeds 100g
- 250g Green Chilli
- 100 g Salt
- 200 ml Mustard Oil
Instructions
- 1. Soak the chana dal and toor dal in water for 4 hours, then drain and rinse well.
- 2. Blend the soaked lentils into a smooth batter using a little water, ensuring it has a thick consistency.
- 3. Mix the lentil batter with rice flour, turmeric powder, salt, and coconut milk until well combined.
- 4. Wash and finely chop the spinach, tomatoes, and green chilies, and stir them into the batter.
- 5. Heat 1 tablespoon of oil in a pan, add cumin seeds, and let them sizzle before mixing them into the batter.
- 6. Grease a baking dish with 1 tablespoon of oil and pour the batter evenly into the dish.
- 7. Preheat the oven to 180°C and bake the batter for 25 minutes, or until the top is golden brown.
- 8. Let the Handvo cool for 5 minutes before slicing and serving warm.
