Ingredients
- - White Poha (White Rice Flakes)
- 90 g Dark Soy Sauce
- 50 g Honey
- - Rice Vinegar
- 100 g Garlic
- loose Ginger
- 250 g Carrot
- 1 pc Broccoli
- 200 ml Sesame Oil
- 50 g White Sesame Seeds
Instructions
- 1. Rinse and cook the white rice in a pot with water until fluffy, then set aside.
- 2. Press the firm tofu to remove excess moisture and cut it into bite-sized cubes.
- 3. Mix soy sauce, honey, rice vinegar, minced garlic, and grated ginger in a bowl to prepare the teriyaki sauce.
- 4. In a separate small bowl, combine cornstarch with a bit of water to create a slurry for thickening the sauce.
- 5. Heat sesame oil in a skillet, add the tofu pieces, and pan-fry until golden brown on all sides.
- 6. Remove the tofu from the skillet and set aside. In the same skillet, sauté sliced carrots and broccoli florets until tender-crisp.
- 7. Pour the teriyaki sauce into the skillet, then add the cornstarch slurry and stir until the sauce thickens.
- 8. Return the tofu to the skillet and toss to coat it evenly with the thickened teriyaki sauce.
- 9. Plate the cooked rice in bowls, then layer the vegetables and tofu on top.
- 10. Garnish with chopped green onions and a sprinkle of sesame seeds before serving.
