Ingredients

  • 80 g Soya Chunks
  • 1 kg Basmati Rice
  • 500 g Onion
  • - Tomato Ketchup
  • 250 g Carrot
  • - Green Peas
  • 50 g Vanilla Bean Paste
  • 20 g Turmeric Powder
  • 45 g Garam Masala
  • - Bay Leaf
  • 100 Gms Organic Cinnamon Stick
  • 50 g Cloves
  • 200 ml Mustard Oil
  • 100 g Salt
  • 1 kg Water Chestnuts
  • - Coriander Powder
  • 25 g Ginger Garlic Paste

Instructions

  1. 1. Soak the soy chunks in warm water for 10 minutes and squeeze out excess water.
  2. 2. Wash and rinse the basmati rice, then soak it in water for 15 minutes.
  3. 3. Heat oil in a pan and add bay leaf, cinnamon, cardamom, and cloves to release their aroma.
  4. 4. Add sliced onions and sauté until golden brown, stirring frequently.
  5. 5. Mix in ginger-garlic paste and cook for 2 minutes until fragrant.
  6. 6. Add chopped tomatoes, turmeric, coriander powder, and red chili powder; cook until tomatoes are soft.
  7. 7. Stir in carrots, green peas, and soy chunks, ensuring they are coated with the spices.
  8. 8. Drain the soaked rice and add it to the pan, mixing gently with the vegetables and soy chunks.
  9. 9. Pour water and season with salt; cover and cook on low heat for 15 minutes.
  10. 10. Sprinkle garam masala and fresh coriander before serving hot.
