Ingredients
- 500 g Whole Farm Premium Kangni/Foxtail Millet - 500 G
- 1 kg Yellow Moong Dal
- - Coconut Oil
- 100 g Yellow Mustard Seeds
- 100 g Jeera
- 100 g Curry Leaves
- 250g Green Chilli
- loose Ginger
- 20 g Turmeric Powder
- 100 g Salt
- 1pc Watermelon
- - Coriander Powder
Instructions
- 1. Rinse the millet and moong dal thoroughly under running water and set aside.
- 2. Heat coconut oil in a pan, add mustard seeds, and let them crackle for a few seconds.
- 3. Add cumin seeds, asafetida, curry leaves, finely chopped green chilies, and grated ginger, then sauté until aromatic.
- 4. Stir in turmeric powder and salt, mixing the spices evenly with the sautéed ingredients.
- 5. Add the rinsed millet and moong dal to the pan, stirring to coat them with the spices.
- 6. Pour in the water, bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce the heat to simmer.
- 7. Cover the pan and cook for 20-25 minutes, stirring occasionally to prevent sticking.
- 8. Once the millet and dal are tender and the water is absorbed, turn off the heat.
- 9. Garnish the dish with freshly chopped coriander leaves for a burst of flavor.
- 10. Serve warm in bowls, enjoying the comforting and protein-rich breakfast.
