Ingredients

  • 500 g Whole Farm Premium Kangni/Foxtail Millet - 500 G
  • 1 kg Yellow Moong Dal
  • - Coconut Oil
  • 100 g Yellow Mustard Seeds
  • 100 g Jeera
  • 100 g Curry Leaves
  • 250g Green Chilli
  • loose Ginger
  • 20 g Turmeric Powder
  • 100 g Salt
  • 1pc Watermelon
  • - Coriander Powder

Instructions

  1. 1. Rinse the millet and moong dal thoroughly under running water and set aside.
  2. 2. Heat coconut oil in a pan, add mustard seeds, and let them crackle for a few seconds.
  3. 3. Add cumin seeds, asafetida, curry leaves, finely chopped green chilies, and grated ginger, then sauté until aromatic.
  4. 4. Stir in turmeric powder and salt, mixing the spices evenly with the sautéed ingredients.
  5. 5. Add the rinsed millet and moong dal to the pan, stirring to coat them with the spices.
  6. 6. Pour in the water, bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce the heat to simmer.
  7. 7. Cover the pan and cook for 20-25 minutes, stirring occasionally to prevent sticking.
  8. 8. Once the millet and dal are tender and the water is absorbed, turn off the heat.
  9. 9. Garnish the dish with freshly chopped coriander leaves for a burst of flavor.
