A fragrant and hearty biryani made with protein-rich lentils and fluffy millet, infused with aromatic spices for a comforting dinner.
Ingredients
- 500 Grms Bajra Atta Millets Atta 500 Grms
- - Baby Tomatoes
- 250g Green Chilli
- loose Ginger
- 100 g Garlic
- 125 ml Flavoured Yogurt Drink - Mango
- 200 ml Mustard Oil
- 100 g Jeera
- 20 g Turmeric Powder
- 45 g Garam Masala
- 100 g Salt
- - Coriander Powder
- 1pc Watermelon
Instructions
- 1. Rinse the millet and lentils thoroughly under cold water to remove impurities.
- 2. Heat oil in a large pan, then add cumin seeds and sauté until they crackle.
- 3. Add finely chopped onions, ginger, garlic, and green chilies, cooking until golden brown.
- 4. Stir in chopped tomatoes, turmeric powder, coriander powder, and salt, cooking until the tomatoes soften.
- 5. Mix in the plant-based yogurt, stirring to combine evenly with the spices.
- 6. Add the rinsed lentils and millet to the pan, mixing well with the spice mixture.
- 7. Pour in water and bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce to a simmer.
- 8. Cover the pan and cook for 20 minutes, stirring occasionally to prevent sticking.
- 9. Once the millet is fluffy and lentils are tender, sprinkle garam masala and mix gently.
- 10. Garnish with freshly chopped coriander and serve hot.
